Documents & Policies

Hendricks Veterinary Hospital is pleased to provide you with a variety of forms that can simplify the process of caring for your pet.

At Hendricks Veterinary hospital, we pride ourselves in offering you and your pet personalized care and reserve appointment times to accommodate your needs. Late arrivals, missed appointments or canceled appointment without sufficient notice, create a gap in our providers’ schedule. These are appointments that could have been utilized to offer care to another patient.

New Clients

When booking an appointment, we will require your credit card information to hold your first appointment. If that appointment is missed or canceled in less than 24 hours, you will be charged the deposit amount as a missed appointment fee.

Cancellation

We understand that unexpected or unavoidable situations may occur resulting in an appointment being cancelled. Please call us at (208) 853-0640 by 2:00 p.m. on the day prior (24 hours) to your scheduled appointment to notify us of any changes or cancellations. To cancel a Monday appointment, please call our office by 12:00pm on Saturday. If Hendricks Veterinary Hospital deems that cancellations / missed appointments are becoming frequent we reserve the right to assess a $50.00 fee for missed appointments.

Late Arrival

Hendricks Veterinary Hospital makes every effort to maintain a schedule that allows individual time with each individual and pet. Appointments are set to reserve this time, making it critical that you arrive to your appointment on time. Late appointments may be asked to reschedule if the veterinarian’s schedule cannot accommodate. If you elect to wait, please understand that wait time may be unpredictable and that priority is given to those patients that arrive on time.

Missed Appointments / No Shows

Hendricks Veterinary Hospital makes attempts via phone and email to remind clients of appointments. Because time is reserved for you and your pet, missed appointments take time away from other pets that may need to be seen. Clients who do not properly cancel appointments will be considered a “no show”. If a client has 2 or more “no shows” we may elect to no longer reserve appointments, no longer provide care to that client’s pets, or charge a non-refundable deposit prior to scheduling an appointment.

Surgery Appointment No Shows

A surgery “no-show” is a client who misses a surgery appointment without providing 24 hours’ notice of cancellation. The first time this occurs we will call to offer to reschedule the appointment and our missed surgery appointment fee of $100 will be waived. At the second missed surgical appointment, we will call to reschedule and you will be charged a missed surgery appointment fee of $100 and will be requested to place a $100 hold fee on the surgical appointment. The hold fee will be credited to the cost of the surgical procedure. If a 3rd missed surgical appointment occurs, the client will be charged a missed appointment fee of $100 and may be discharged from the practice.

Payment Policy

We require full payment at the time that services are rendered. A verbal or written estimate of services will be provided prior to any procedures. In order to continue providing high-quality service utilizing the best medical technologies and staffing enthusiastic and skilled staff members, we are unable to bill or offer payment plans for your visit. If you have concerns about the cost of care, we encourage an open discussion to help develop a more customized medical plan. Hendricks Veterinary Hospital accepts all major credit cards, cash, checks, Scratch Pay, and Care Credit.

Prescription Refill Policy

Hendricks Veterinary Hospital cares deeply about your pet's welfare and unique health care needs. Please plan ahead and allow 24 hours for your pet's prescriptions to be refilled. A 24-hour notice is required to give your doctor time to review your pet's medical record, make sure no changes are needed to the prescription, and approve the refill. In addition, it also gives our staff time to fill the prescription.

In order of any refill to be considered, there must be a Veterinarian-Client-Patient relationship, your pet must be current on his/her examination and/or there must have been refills previously authorized by your veterinarian.

For the safety of your pet, certain medications require blood testing and checks at specific intervals in order for your pet to continue on medication.

If you are needing an refill authorization request and utilizing a third-party pharmacy, please contact our hospital and we will provide a written prescription for you to pick up during business hours.

Prescription Refunds

Any prescription medication that has left the building, regardless of whether or not it has been opened, CANNOT BE RETURNED. As all of our medications are regulated by the Federal Drug Administration (FDA) we are subject to the same dispensing laws as human pharmacies.

Online Pharmacy

We understand that life is busy and convenience plays a huge role in wanting to order from online stores. So, we now have our own trusted online pharmacy partner where you can purchase medications, heartworm, flea and tick preventatives, regular and prescription foods and much more to be delivered straight to your door! Simply visit our online store to create an account, then select the products you would like to order and it will send us a prescription approval request. You can set up auto-shipments if you like, and your purchases will still qualify for the same manufacturer rebates and guarantees we offer in-hospital.
