Marya became a Certified Veterinary Technician because she is passionate about providing exceptional medical care for her patients while also ensuring her clients’ “fur babies” receive tender loving care. Her extensive knowledge of pharmaceuticals and medical equipment make her an exceptional Lead Inventory Technician. Marya loves laboratory technology and can often be found with her nose in a microscope. She can vividly remember the first time she found toxoplasmosis on a microscope and the excitement it gave her to identify it. Marya has three dogs named Diesel (English Black Lab), Diesel’s daughter Oakley (English Black Lab), and Old Man Copen (Heeler). Marya also breeds and shows Champion Toy Manchester Terriers of whom she has had the honor of taking to the Westminster Dog Show. Their names are “Pink” CHGHB, “Blossom” Party In a Bottle at Marbil’s, “Jazzy” Blossom’s Jasmine Dream GHCHS, and “Romeo” Marbil’s Lets Get the Party Started. Pink is Marya’s heart dog, she is her constant companion who is just as feisty as Marya. All of Marya’s dogs are spoiled pooches who receive royal treatment. To add to her pack Marya also has 12 grandchildren! “I had the pleasure of working with Dr. El Ray Hendricks for 19 years. He had so many years of experience with all kinds of animals. I can remember spaying a mouse with Dr. Hendricks, or working with Bengal tigers! Most importantly, he always took the time to teach me. He supported me through college to obtain my Bachelor of Veterinary Science degree, and he encouraged me to pursue my CVT. It is because of El Ray’s passion for all animals that I have stayed in this profession.” Marya joined the Hendricks team in 1998.
“I work hard so my dogs can have a better life.”
